Welcome to the Aquarium, a hidden treasure at Canal Rocks Yallingup. It’s a beautiful stretch of clear aqua water and rock reef paradise, and a reward for the 1km walk through the rough dunes. Without any beach to set up towel and umbrellas the rocks flow from the trail into and around the pool creating this Aquarium full of sea life to explore. The artworks for ‘The Aquarium’ series are inspired by my experience here, and reflect what was truly split experience, where as peaceful and calm as it was below the water with those snorkeling and exploring, above the water was a hive of people climbing, jumping and diving. Two very opposite adventures sharing the one space. These paintings express the beauty and fun of ‘The Aquarium’ connecting the world above the water to the world below. This artwork both begins the adventure of ‘Connections’ as we arrive at the first site, and are also introduced to a cross over series ‘The Littles’ with a bunch of blue dragonflies flock over the saltbushes following the trail down to the sea.
