Splash of Colour – Karratha

One of my favorite public art projects for 2018 was Water Corporations ‘Splash of Colour’ in Karratha, Australia.

I was flown up to Karratha to lead two workshops with the year 5 students at Baynton West Primary school. Together we designed 2 large artworks which once eventually cover the fences of the nearby pumpstations.

They themed the artworks around local areas ‘Hearsons Cove’ and ‘Pythons Pool’ and filled it with characters and stories that related to them.

I took there ideas and painted two large 2.6m long oil paintings that were then digitized and printed onto 20m long banners to cover the fences.
